Etymology:
- This short expression originated in 20th century in America. It was the time when the word “gravy” was used as slang word for earning money more often by unfair means. As the word train is taken from railroad trains and people who worked there made this phrase “gravy train” referring to a well- paid job which was easy and does not required any laborious effort at all.
