read 'em and weep

When playing cards (usually poker) and the final hand is played, a person often shows their cards in anticipation of winning and boasts this phrase to brag that their hand is good enough to win that round

The boys are playing poker. The last person antes and "calls" or matches the bet of the high bidder. The high bidder fans his cards down on the table and says, "Read 'em and weep" to the other players (especially to the person who "called" their bet.) Sometimes when a person says this they don't actually have the winning hand!
